Rigel Mascarenhas
B.App Sci, M. Physio Prac, AHT (as awarded by the AHTA)
Rigel is an Australian trained physiotherapist who has further specialised in the field of Hand Therapy. He graduated Physiotherapy in 2019 from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters of Physiotherapy Practice. He commenced his career working at a large private Hand Therapy clinic where he developed a passion for treating hand and wrist injuries.
In 2022 Rigel commenced further study through the Australian Hand Therapy Association, later being awarded the title of Accredited Hand Therapist in 2024.
Currently Rigel holds positions across both public and private settings which has helped increase his exposure to a wide variety of non-operative and post-operative hand and wrist conditions.
Rigel currently works at St Vincent's Hospital publicly which has enabled him to gain invaluable experience working alongside Plastic surgeons and Hand Surgeons to deliver care to people with complex and multi-trauma injuries.
Rigel also currently consults at Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre where he has treated a broad range of sporting injuries.
Outside of work, Rigel enjoys trying out new restaurants/cafes, camping and playing music.
