  • If you are attending privately you do not need a referral to book an appointment. If you are hoping to attend with a DVA Gold card or receive a Medicare rebate under a Chronic Disease Management plan, then a referral from your GP will be required.

  • Medicare will only provide a rebate if you have been referred by a GP or Specialist for a maximum of 5 sessions per calendar year. If you are eligible, Medicare will rebate you $61.80 after your appointment.

  • Yes- Rigel is a registered physiotherapist and if you have physiotherapy cover, you can make a private health insurance claim. The rebate amount will depend on your level of care.

  • During you appointment, your condition will be assessed and your treatment will be delivered. Depending on your condition, you may require splinting, exercise, activity modification advice, manual therapy or other soft-tissue techniques. Your Hand Therapist will be able to determine what treatment is best at each stage of your recovery.
